The Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE) is coming to the Westin LAX Feb 8-10, 2008.

There will be many Linux vendors on site. Check it out. This would be a great opportunity to see how Linux has become a legitimate alternative to the Microsoft juggurnaut.

Let's get the word out...

The purpose of this blog will be to openly discuss Linux and other open source software. Many of the Linux distros that will be reviewed here are available at my website DiscZones.com. Open source software has been associated with the the word "free" in many instances. While free can mean "no cost" or inexpensive, free also means "freedom" as in freedom of choice, and this is the true value behind open source software.

We no longer have to rely solely on Microsoft to provide our software needs. There truly is a wealth of open source software available in all categories suitable for all manner of applications. This blog will explore all these areas. Please feel free to post comments and suggestions for software to review in this blog.
